Black Bear Festival Film Salon

  • The Columns Museum 608 Broad St Milford United States (map)

The Pike County Historical Society will host a Black Bear Festival Film Salon on Sunday October 20th

The Museum will be open from 11-2. Featuring the exhibit: The Lenape, Original People. Reconciling the Past, Embracing the Future. This exhibit relates to the opening night feature film. Also featured is a fine collection of antique fishing lures - all retrieved from the depths and banks of the Delaware River- and antique rods, reels and tackle from the Bob Hartman Collection.

Our film Salon will take place in the Foundation Room, located on the right side of the building, commencing at 12pm with Salmon Secrets - a documentary which looks at the impacts of salmon farming through the eyes of those fighting to protect wild salmon from extinction.

After Salmon Secrets things get really fishy with a marathon of Science Fiction Creature Feature films from the 1950's that showcase some of the classic monsters of the deep!

1:00pm The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms 1953 1hr 20 min. A prehistoric sea beast leads a path of destruction across eastern North America! (The "beast" is rumored to be the inspiration for "Godzilla")

2:30pm Attack of the Crab Monsters 1957 69 min. A Roger Corman Classic! Radioactive Crabs make life for some nosy scientists difficult.
